No specific 'performance tips', but try to keep it under 140 MPH ! After 2 sessions on a closed, well maintained road course, I found that the rear engine mount had broken. There was no evidence of any damage occuring over a period of time. The break definitely occured as a result of the high speed runs. On my second run, my little 'pocket rocket' actually was timed at 147.5 MPH. Considering the over 130K on the car, I was very impressed! I'm not some 'nut' just acting up...I have the proper training to drive at that speed. Keep in mind, I was on a professional track and the conditions were perfect. I've driven faster...but not in my own stock Saab. My car ('Inga'), is really a marvelous automobile. I can afford to buy a newer Saab, but with only 132K on the odometer she's just starting to run good! Be careful...and if you tend to drive somewhat fast, I might suggest a better quality Radar/ Laser Detector; such as the Escort 7500 or Solo, or theValentine One. Oh...I might also suggest that after a period of high speed driving-let the engine idle for at least 45-60 seconds to allow the turbo to 'cool down'.
Joe, you should also contact one of this lists resident experts on Saab turbos, Larry West. I think his website can be found at: http://www.saabturbo.com
