tire chains

I've searched the archives but found only a few messages regarding tire
chains on OG 900's. I have little winter driving experience but will be
taking my 88 900S to the east coast from western Montana in late December.
I'd love to hear from people who've had success with certain types of
chains. Thanks for your help,
