Yeah, well try getting your Saab serviced in Oregon. After Eugene
Lincoln Mercury Saab lost their franchise we had to drive 120 miles
to the dealer in Portland and another 120 miles back (at least
Garry Small Saab there provides loaners).

I doubt I'll ever go back to Carter Saab. I think they have rubber
stamps with 'we couldn't find a problem' and 'we can hear the noise
but don't know what it is' on them.

Barrier (at least for me) has been getting better and better. They worked
with Saab on doing our free cambelt change early (26k instead of 35k, car
is almost four years old) and have been really responsive to finding
problems.

In particular, Patrick Deasy has been great. If I have a problem I swing by
during lunch time and he usually gives me an indication of if they'll fix
it-
a big time saver. I was there two days ago with leaky hatch struts, and I'm
getting them replaced while I wait next week.

In fact they have fixed several problems (three now) that Carter couldn't or
wouldn't fix:

* ABS loss of pressure during driveway self test (Barrier bled brakes which
fixed it, Carter said it was 'normal') I still had to involve local rep
Wolf.
* noisy ACC sensor fan assy (Barrier replaced it while I waited, Carter had
said it was as noisy of every other NG900 or 9-3 on their lot)
* rattle from lower front suspension (Barrier service manager Art test drove

it with me and diagnosed a loose front mudflap, cost $9! Carter said that
they could hear the noise but didn't know what it was and not to worry)

Of course I only work a couple of miles from them.

An another note, try getting a good deal on a 9-5 wagon in Seattle.
It is pretty well impossible.

Glenn
