rebuilt engines/trans
Posted by Julie Coburn (more from Julie Coburn) on Mon, 13 Nov 2000 18:41:18
I'm trying to sell my '83 900t, and I want to say good things about it but not be inaccurate - I believe the engine was rebuilt, but is there definition for 'rebuilt'? I've heard people call engines 'reconditioned' too - what's the difference? Also, I had the transmission rebuilt, but someone who called about it told me that he had been told they couldn't be rebuilt, that you had to buy a new one, for around $3000.... I checked my records, though, and I do have a receipt for the transmission, which says rebuilt.... what's he talking about? I don't have a record for the engine work, since it happened just before I bought it. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.... Julie
