900 -- stalling problem --!?
Posted by Joel Govostes (more from Joel Govostes) on Mon, 5 Feb 2001 08:55:49
Hi- We've a problem with a 93 Saab 900 -- can anyone offer a possible diagnosis?
Engine sometimes stalls when waiting at an intersection, OR when starting to accelerate out of a stop (such as a red light or intersection). The problem is intermittent.
In these instances, the engine keeps running just fine during the stop, but when I start to press on the gas pedal to proceed, that is when the engine dies (or in some cases almost dies, but then comes back).
Location is upstate NY, and the problem is occuring on both cold (well below freezing) or mild (just above freezing) days.
Fuel pump was installed less than a year ago. Distrib. cap and rotor were just replaced last week. Evidently it was not an electrical problem there.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated...
many thanks
