Classic 900 Front Frame Rot
Posted by Andris Kanderovskis (more from Andris Kanderovskis) on Thu, 1 Mar 2001 17:14:45
Just discovered front frame rot at the passenger side lower forward a-arm mount. The rot is at the outer single bolt, the inner double bolt area seems fine. A long screw driver inserted into the rotten area makes the mounting bracket flex.
This is the second 900 I have had this happen to. The first (a 1983) I stopped driving and used for parts. This an otherwise fine 1986 that wants to make 200,000 miles.
Anyone on the list have experience in dealing with this? Thanks.
Andy
