If worse comes to worst, you can cut some of the fingers off the pressure plate with a torch, but you should be able to crowbar the thing back to where you can use the factory tool, if you can find one.
Good luck, I had do do one in a barn where the slave blew out and jammed in the disengaged position. The bear was getting it to retract after the tool was in place...
