Where to find chassis number and engine rebuild questions 85 900T [saabnow]

Message from Joshua Van Tol Subject: Where to find chassis number and engine rebuild questions 85 900T ================= I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine on a 1985 saab 900t 16 valve, and for a number of parts I need to know the chassis range. This doesn't appear to be related to the VIN number, which is YS3AT35LXS1017979. Is it somehow encoded in there? Or is it on one of the numerous little number plates scattered around the car?
Also, in a related question, When they list chassis ranges they do something like:
To which chassis range does your vehicle belong? --M7021037 --M2500244
What does this mean? -- Joshua Van Tol
