Quick question -- they list both an 'early' and 'late' Bosch 80A
alternator for the 1987 900s, but only the 'early' model for the 1986es.
In a pinch (mostly because the rebuilder is backed up and I have to drive
to New York) are these two interchangeable? I've got a1986 900T16 and a
1987, and the 1987's voltage regulator seems to have gone bad -- it will
power the car without the battery, but driving it will drain the battery
even though the alternator is kicking out current. I figured I could pull
the alternator out of the '86 and put it in the '87 while the '87s
alternator was out being rebuilt...
