Ignition & generator noise in the stereo [saabnow]

I have recently experienced ignition and generator noise in the right hand
dashboard speaker, I'm not able to tell if there is noise in the rear speaker
as well. The noise level is independent of the volume setting on the stereo
and it does not matter if i listen to the radio or to a CD. The car is a 97'
9000 CSE Jubilee model with original (Clarion) stereo, in-dash CD player and
trunk mounted CD-changer.
Any good ideas?
