Lucas, The prince of darkness

Don't shudder too much. Lucas really isn't that bad. The bad rap is based
predominantly on the marginal 'bullet' connectors used in the past. On both
my 1974 Norton Commando motorcycle and my 1960 Triumph TR3A, once the
electrical connections were sorted out, the Lucas components have proven to
be pretty dependable, especially considering their age. I wouldn't worry
too much about the newer Lucas stuff in our Saabs.

BTW - Look for Triumphs on the road, converging on Portland Maine, for the
Vintage Triumph Register annual convention on 28 July - 1 August. Roughly
300 cars (500 people) are currently pre-registered.

Regards,

Jack (talk to me again after I drive the Triumph to Maine next week) Brooks
