Use a search engine online for 'trailer wiring diagram'. You should come across
several sites covering the standard wiring setup. A digital meter will have a
difficult time with the turn signal power. An analog meter is better for this.
You can of course use a 12V test light. As was stated in an earlier message
you'll need an adapter to go from a 4 wire set-up to a 7 wire set-up. Try A good
hardware store or an RV/Trailer dealer.
