Hi,
Two of the motors in my right front (passenger) seat have decided that
they will only go in one direction. The fore-aft adjustment will only go
forward, and the up-down adjustment for the front of the seat cushion will
only go up. There seems to be a controller unit for the motors beneath the
seat where I can hear relays clicking as I work the switches. On a
functioning seat, when pressing a switch to adjust the seat, I can hear a
relay click closed and then click open again when I release the button or
when the seat reaches the end of the travel. On the malfunctioning seat, if
I try to move it back or lower the front of the seat cushion, I hear a relay
close and open again immediately before anything happens. The problem began
gradually; for a while the seat would move for about half a second or so
before stopping, so repeatedly moving the switch would still allow me to move
the seat. Has anyone had this happen before? Has the controller unit simply
gone bad? If!
so, what would a good source be for a new one? Any advice is appreciated
-- my passengers are getting annoyed (and squished)! :-)
