Subject: RE: My Saab 95 is Possessed ================= Allan,
In dealing with a 2004 9-5 wagon that had been in a flood, it was at first fine. Later it wouldn't start due to a bad alarm computer. I was told that the alarm is the lowest computer in the car & it made sense that it would be first damaged due to high water. A new alarm fixed that car.
Why don't you call English-Swedish(GA), Goldwing (NY), Sobstory or one of the other used parts houses to see what a replacement out of a wrecked car will cost. Be sure they 'unmarry' it from the car it comes from so it can work with your car (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty much every used computer part needs to be unwed from the cars now). I'll bet the savings will be huge & why would you need a 'Brand New' computer? Dealers only sell new, but they install used. My dealer will install parts I supply but with a great big note on the bill saying it is not gtd. as it is a customer supplied part.
BTW, look up under the drivers seat, is the wire grid/frame all rusty? It was on the '04.
