Subject: Stuck Ignition
=================
here's another interesting ignition switch gremlin...We returned from a
week's vacation to pick up our 86 spg. The key went in the ignition but
wouldn't turn. Then it wouldn't come out. It was hopelessly jammed. I came
back the next day and wiggled the key (a spare) until it broke off inside the
cylinder. The whole time I fiddled with it I sprayed WD 40 at it. Then I took
the biggest slotted screwdriver I had and jammed it in above the key stump.
Slowly, I was able to turn the switch clockwise and get the car to start! I
let it run for awhile and took it for a spin. I didn't want to shut it off
because we were a half hour from home but I finally got up the courage. I was
able to turn the switch all the way to the lock position and then remove the
key stump with a pair of tweezers. Now the switch works just fine with a key!
Problem solved...somehow??

Dave
