Have anyone put MOTUL V300+ in his engine or gearbox?
Posted by elbo (more from elbo) on Thu, 12 Aug 1999 17:48:49
 I have a OG900 T 8V NoAPC, 135 HP, but in my country we don't even know
Redline MTL oils, even if i heard from you the best about it and saabs.
So i am putting in Engine and gearbox the same one. It's MOTUL V300+
Competition 15W50 full synthetic and somethink like 'esteres' excuse if
i don't know that. I am working with this oil for more than a year,
20000 km, change every 7500km, and i noticed the followings:
1. country temperature 'GREECE (summer)' : 30 - 38 'Celcius
2. VDO Oil Temperature (with VDO metering in place of oil change tap)
Soft driving (no Turbo use) - 80 'Celcius
Hard driving (Turbo use-trying to catch Peugeot 106 Rallye)
- 90-95 'Celcius
City blocked driving (no Turbo use) - 90-95 'Celcius
3. VDO Oil Pressure (with VDO metering device near oil filter)
Cold Engine - 875 rpm 5 kg/cm2
Warm Engine 875 rpm 1,75 kg/cm2
The pressuse nevers gets under 1,6-1,75 kg/cm2
4. The engine is hearing very smoothworking. The chain doen't make any
noise even in cold starting mornings (don't press gas, only 1000 rpm for
1 minute then go). Then engine has already 350.000 km and i made the
head, i got it with 330.000 km, the preowner was putting very cheap oil.

5. I must notice that my car performance aren't acceptable by me, it's
working perfect in every rpm, but it has no power spot, it goes like a
hiundai accent 1.3 84 HP. I have a NEW TE-05 Mitsubishi, low pressured
0,5 bar till putting my Renault 5GT Turbo intercooler. And the CIS Bosch
is working fine. I measured the FPR to 2.8 bar cold engine, Distributor
Hall and vacuum are working grate. My brother has the same car but 900 T
16V Intercooler APC 1985 model and its going too, tooo much better.
Sorry if i got borrowing to you, but in greece are a few SAAB OG900 so
noone can fix them. I have bought many keys, even lifter for the
complete cat to 2meters high, its usefull.

Best Regards
