<SNIP>

Too late! (I brought the car in Monday night)

Actually, I've done every single thing on your list except bringing the
steering knuckle to a machine shop. In fact, I had the very same assembly
apart just two weeks ago to change the outter CV boot. Unfortunately, the
bearing was quiet at that time.

So, now I've got a new R/F wheel bearing and back to silent running.

On the plus side, I've been a little worried about Mjollnir's oil
pressure, seeing as the oil light would flicker when lugging the engine or
when pulling away from a stop sign. This (happily) turned out to be a
loose connector at the oil pressure sender. .50 later all was well
(whew).
