Randal,
If you're mechanically talented you can purchase the mast for $32 at your
local Saab dealer. Remove the whole unit and carefully clean the broken
'nylon toothed ribbon' and install the new mast. It took me couple of hours
to get the thing apart, cleaned and installed at snail pace. Good Luck!
Make sure you get the junk out of the gears you won't be able to remove the
motor completely but enough to clean the gears and contact. Pay attention
to the ground plate and wire configuration. James
