Frozen SpringsShocks?
Posted by Rick Hulford (more from Rick Hulford) on Mon, 17 Jan 2000 10:51:45
Last night and this morning were very cold in Toronto (-19 degrees celsuis). While driving home late yesterday and to work this morning I noticed my car creaking loudly as I hit bumps in the road. It sounded as if it was the springs or shocks groaning in the cold. My question is for those of you that live in place that normally get temperatures like this...is this common? Do spings creak when it gets very cold? Have any other northern Saabres noticed this? (I find it odd that a car made at almost 60 degree North would have components that have trouble at -19.)
My car is a 97 900 SE coupe (Talledega), with 60,000km.
Regards
Rick
