Damon,
I would advise you check the auto box, and engine mounts real good.
Fluid in the box should be Bright red, any browning to it at all and your looking at many $$$$$.
Check out the top engine mounts, any cracks in the rubber, show they are about to give, and can also indicate, allot of wear in the front lower mount. With the car having 70,000, cracks in these top mounts really should not be there, but if they are, it shows that the car has been driven quite hard in the past.
Check brake disks for wear, put your finger through the alloy wheels and press it on the shiny part of the disk, then run your finger up the disk to the top edge, did it feel smooth?,if not they have been scared, and will need to be changed, if you feel a sharp lip at the top edge of the disk, that your finger has to rise over, these babies will need replacing, and until you do, this car will sound like a train on tracks when you brake hard, also check pads.
In the UK, the price I was given for doing disk and pad replacement, on all four, was £420.00. Arhghhhhh!!.
In the end I did it myself for £155.00, with the help of my great neighbour!!
