900 Tranny Estimate
Posted by Wayne Edelen (more from Wayne Edelen) on Tue, 7 Mar 2000 11:20:22
Not sure if anyone remembers my recent question about trannys for my '98 900 Turbo, but I just got a call from the tranny shop. I gave them my VIN and asked for a worst case estimate.
If they have to replace the tranny, it will run me $2300, parts/labor.
However, once they crack open the tranny, they can determine the condition of the internal parts and figure out if it they can just replace what's ailing inside.
I know the owner of the shop and he recently repaired the Borg Warner T56 6spd in my Firebird. I'm confident that he'll give me an honest deal on the repair of the 5spd in the SAAB.
I'm dropping it off tomorrow, so I'll keep everyone posted on the progress and what eventually gets replaced.
