If it''s like the 88 900 there should be a motor in the spare tire compartment in the trunk. The screws that hold this motor together have a tendancy to spontaneously come out. If they do the sunroof will not work and motor parts will fall out. The motor can be reassembled with a little luck and care. The motor opens and closes the sunroof via some sort of cabling system. Checking the motor and the electrical connection to the motor seems like a good place to start. Also fuses of course. Good luck.
