I've seen a lot of problems with the Linears. I have a Vector and it's been perfect. I haven't seen a whole lot of problem threads with either the Arc or the Vector. I think Saab may have rushed the first 9-3SS's out to meet schedule (probably with some heavy-handed GM exec breathing down their neck). With the late (and later) release of the Arcs and Vectors something seems a little strange. Why would you release a model variation in March when you plan to shut the plant down in June for annual retooling and calibration. Doesn't make much sense considering that's about the time you would start receiving secondary orders. The root of most of these problems is the new fiber optic system. From experience, it's a bear to program and debug these systems. The data is coming in at such a high rate that normal software coding techniques often fail. You have to do a lot of "catch and wait" with the signals. This is all new for the auto industry, but old hat for the aerospace industry. The good news is it's just a software upgrade. Soon some indies will come up with all kinds of TechII tweeks for the new series. I'm excited.
