Normally the end of lease inspector doesn't even drive the car, it's under warranty, so anything mechanical will be fixed under warranty. They're just looking for cosmetic things. Even if it was metal on metal I doubt they would notice. There's not even a mention of it on the excess wear and tear charges from GMAC or SFSC. Most lease returns get brakes anyway. As a used car manager you consider yourself lucky if you don't have to do brakes.
