...which was the day I took delivery. Dealer went ahead and ordered the radio, just in case.
You are correct that I was considering the portable soultion. Now that I've seen the installation done (thanks to Ron H) a few of my questions have been answered.
I'm not exactly crazy about the extra antenna in the back, I would have hoped that the sharkfin could have been used without extra wiring. Also, if the XM is hard wired into the console, why can't they tap the AUX line-in to keep it free for use by an iPod?
Ron H, if you are out there, can you tell me if the XM works seamlessly with the existing radio through the head unit, or do you have to treat it like an aftermarket.
At this point, I'm leaning towards passing on the XM.
It's amazing to me that in a car so technologically advanced, that certain up-to-date technologies are intentionally omitted, such as XM and Bluetooth.
Thanks for the On-Star greediness GM! Oh yeah, On-Star isn't even included in the 2.0T!
