I have a somewhat similar situation. I have a 2003 9-3 with 35,000 miles. I purchased the car new and have been generally happy until 11/05 when there were problems with the driver door panel. The panel was replaced by the dealer under warranty, but also required a door latch (also covered under warranty) which was on back order. The part as of this date is still on back order with no date when it might be available. The problem is that I cannot lock the doors either manually or with the remote. Over 4 months and I cannot lock the car! A few weeks ago I complained to Saab USA and after a lot of complaining, they finally rented me a Chevy Impala. Great for the short run but I have been driving that for almost a month with no end in sight. If I wanted a Chevy, I would have bought a Chevy in the beginning. Very frustrating. I have written a letter to Saab USA suggesting that they give me a fair trade on my 9-3 towards a new 9-3 with the same deal that I received when I bought the 2003, which is 0% financing. Given what I have been dealing with, I think that is fair, especially since they are probably going to pay more for the rental than the interest. I want to be fair, but I want to be driving my own safe Saab, not a Chevy. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
