Sorry, an inline -6 is a perfectly balanced motor. Think Jaguar E-Type, most BMWs, Lexus GS300. Even the 4.2 I-6 in the Saab 9-7X is known as an excellent motor. It's not a compromised V8, it's equally good
I like the 2.3 4 cyl a lot too. Had a '95 9000 Aero 5 speed. But certainly in terms of marketing, Saab did the best they could with the 9-3 2.0T / 2.8T.
What's amazing is they can match the Acura TSX with a similar package for $26k. The 9-3 2.0T is the only "special" sedan you can buy for that kind of money IMO. How cool will the Acura be in 10 years?
