Can you pay a dealer to have your car CPO'ed?

I did some search but can't find a clear answer to my question.
Say I'm buying a car that is currently still in warranty from a private seller (who is also the 1st and only owner). If I want the extra 2yr/50k mi CPO warranty, can I ask the seller to go to her dealership and have the car CPO'ed? Can I, the 2nd owner do it myself?
Also, how flexible is the CPO cost? I know it costs the dealer $1200, would they do it for $1500?
TIA!
