Given that you'd be getting warranty coverage for a total of 6 years from the time the car was first sold, it's a good deal.
Example: If the car went into service on 6/15/2005, then the car would be covered as though it was brand new up until 6/15/2011. IMHO, that peace of mind is worth the price.
A few caveats: the '05 would have analog On-Star service as an option, but that's only available through 12/31/2007. If you must have On-Star, you'd need to buy an '06 or later with a digital On-Star unit pre-installed.
There is some other fine print as to what's not covered under a CPO Saab, but I believe those exclusions only kick in after 50K. That leaves you with 27,000 miles to play with.
Good luck deciding!
