I have an 06 SC which is relatively new (Bought it at the end of January). Mine is an automatic, and my first automatic car. I definately wish I had gotten a manual. Not that there is anything wrong with the auto, it actually works really well and seems to always be in the right gear or willing to change quickly. I just miss shifting and having the control. I have a C900 too, and in comparison the 9-3 is much much much faster, can take turns much faster/tighter, is much smoother riding, seems to have more room in the front but about the same in the back.
The only thing I really dont like about this car is that it seems to be so hard to see out of. I feel like there are lots of big blind spots and I cant adjust my mirrors properly to see what I want to see. Its hard to see what is behind the car when backing up. I need to do really extreme head checks when changing lanes. This is a fault shared with most new cars, but my 05 VW Golf was much better than the 9-3.
I dont like how the stalks for turn signals and wipers feel. They feel hollow and fragile. I would prefer something more substantial. I would also prefer the 07 dash with it's simpler controls and better radio. I also am not sure if I like the aluminum trim. I HATE the fake wood. I was going to see if the dealer could order me the black plastic trim for around the shifter/ignition instead of the horrible fake wood.
I love my stylish sporty station wagon. It looks awesome and I can fit a lot of stuff in it and it feels really stable and secure under all kinds of conditions. I love the auto climate control! I never feel like it needs any kind of manual overriding or adjustment.
