right front turn signal failure?

2003 9-3SS 123,000 miles.

I was driving down the road and the SID message turned on saying I had a right front turn signal failure. I was not turning or anything it just turned on. First I figured I blew a bulb and went and replaced it. When I turned the car back on the SID message was still on and the turn signal did not work. I checked out the fuse info in my manual and that turn signal is tied in with 4 other lights, and they all work so it's not the fuse. I took out the little screw assembly from the left front turn signal and screwed it in to the right one and the SID still popped up. It sounds like I might have a contact problem because all my other lights work fine. Has anyone here ever dealt with this problem before? Should I take it to the dealer or tear the light assembly out? Any info would be great! Thanks!
