Coldest I have been in is near 20 deg so far. With car overnight out in cold it would take maybe 2 minutes or so for heat to come out of the vents but car interior would warm up after an additional 5 or so minutes on the highway then I would turn it down. I found having recirc on made a big difference in the speed of heating and when outside temps are low and faster you get heat inside, the less needed from the engine. I have also found that I get warmed up faster if I take the ACC off of "auto" put the dial to max heat, speed to about 2 or 3 bars initially, and direct all the air to come out the top vents (i.e., hot air blowing right at you, then perhaps do the same for the feet or just get both going after a few minutes).
