Lead acid batteries don't like to sit around without being charged from time to time - which is just what can happen to Saabs. They get built, drive to the parking lot and wait. Drive onto the truck, off the truck at the docks, and wait. Drive onto the boat, and wait. Drive off the boat and wait. Drive onto a train to Lordstown, Ohio, and wait. Drive onto a truck to your dealer and wait. A lot of waiting, a lot of starting, not much charging.

The 4 year warranty is a godsend in terms of battery. I have only ever had 2 Saabs that didn't need a new battery in the first 2 years: My '02 Wagon (almost 5 years) and my CV (still going after 4 1/12. That's time of ownership, not time since manufacture.
