Winter Creaks in 9-3

One of the things I would like to leave behind in a new Saab would be the winter noises and breaking bits. I have a 1999 93 SE with 130k on the odometer. The, air conditioner, the bullseye HVAC monitor, SID, turn signal clicker and power seat trim are broken. I recently spent $1,800 on repairing the HVAC vent controller, power window regulator and new DI. I still want to fix the AC proper and keep my 93 SE as a car for city driving.
I'm sniffing at a 2008 Aero six speed with 40k on the odometer. I have driven four 9-3s ranging from a 2007 2.0t SC auto, a 2007 Aero sedan manual and two 2008 2.0t sedan manuals. The interior 'appeared' to be holding up after 35,000 to 40,000 miles. The weather in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area has been freezing for the past three weeks of road tests and I have not heard a single suspension groan or creak. I've have read 'some' complaints about winter creaking. Am I missing something? I also drove a low mileage 2004 325i manual with the sport and premium packages. The BMW is sort of a family friendly, cheap, mid life crisis, sports car. All the used cars I'm looking at are under $16k.
The wife says go with the devil you know, The Saab 2.0t. My brain says get the 2008 Aero. My heart says get the BMW for the steering, braking and handling.
Suggestions and comments are very welcome.
