I've got the same car with 68k on the clock. Your numbers sound about what I'd expect. I'll have to try a similar run and see how close I get. I'm assuming that each time you set a new speed, you then cleared the MPG function and then drove a few miles with the cruise until the reading leveled out?
I'm in the Boston area and the weather is just warming up enough lately to give a noticeable increase in MPG's.
