I don't think it matters but out of principle I always work to keep the car looking like from factory so I would not cross the hose.
I can't say exactly what the tank looks like inside but in theory, if one of the pipes would be routed to the bottom of tank to pick up or deliver fluid and the other would end up at the top for working out air bubbles, it might make a difference in how the designer planned for the circulation of coolant and how you hook up the hoses.
By the way, I think the bottom hose is attached by a quick connector on the V6 not with the hose spring clamp so I might have been wrong with the first suggestion. You didn't see any metal spring that could be pushed and then the hose pulled off?
