Re: BS tensioner/chain Replace. Gotta Drop Engine? Posted by SaabAficionado [Email] (#758) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabAficionado) on Mon, 18 Nov 2013 11:18:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My cars been rattling for a long time. Sounds like a diesel when I turned it off. Finally took it to indie mech cause I have aftermarket warranty. They are very good and thorough and specialize in Saabs. Not sure but it's something with the BS tensioner, plate or something (never been into this engine) and needs to be replaced. What scares me is they say the engine needs to be dropped down (I think they unbolt the whole lower subframe) and lower it down. Everybody knows that when you start pulling off tons of components in order to free up an engine stuff can go really wrong...clips get busted, cables rerouted and not secured properly, whatever. Do they have to drop it?
