My gut feeling says no due to that Saab uses their own Trionic fuel and ignition system which is different from being just a coil firing a spark plug.
Also, all sources displaying different part numbers between the Saab coil and the Cobalt/Ion coil, none of the different p/n cross over from one to the other.
So I'm pretty sure it is something inside the coils that makes them work different enough that I would not want to be the first trying it.
I have had 03 and up 9-3 coming in with ignition/running related problems and the only problem was that someone had installed some new and fantastic one-size-don't-fit-all spark plug. Installing the proper NGK plug took care of the issue.
