You might have several problems so don't try to fix all with one repair.
Usually, when the steering lock malfunction comes on randomly while driving, we replace the ignition switch (ISM) as a first precaution, especially if there are any codes in the system indicating voltage problems here and there.
If the message comes on while inserting or removing the key and if the click is not heard from the column lock, it could be a hit and miss in being the ISM or the SCL or CIM.
As for the starting issues, I don't know but my wife's 07 is having the same issues where it will start up, sputter and die when the engine is warm and car has been sitting for a few minutes.
If it had happen when the engine was overnight cold, I would have suspected the intake valve issue but not when warm.
Right now I just monitor it and we'll see if it gets worse.
I'm gearing up to replace the fuel pump assembly due to a flaky fuel level sensor so I will see if that starting problem goes away too with a new fuel pump assembly.
