The engine control module, due to its proximity to the engine, is a very likely candidate for imminent failure (if it hasn't been replaced already). Ask me how I know, or search the board for my recent experience. They cost a small fortune to buy "new", but buying a used one is risky because it is just as likely to be dead or near the end of its life (ask me how I know that too). Incidentally, I've got a virtually brand new one, if you're interested. My car was rear-ended shortly after finally getting a good one installed.
I replaced my '06 with an '08, and both of them needed an intermediate steering shaft. Maybe a coincidence, but that seems like a common failure as well.
