I installed the Kit today Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 23 Jun 2021 07:30:47 In Reply to: I received my Trionic ECU Heat & Vibration Elimination Kit today, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 18 Jun 2021 09:25:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Total time about an hour.
Three hints:
1) Step #0 should be to disconnect the battery negative. Somehow this step is not included.
2) Spray both sides and the bottom of the two ECU connectors with Silicone to ease removal. Pressing on the two short black legs at the bottom of the two connector bodies helps a lot to start the release motion of the clamps.
3) The instructions say to maintain 2mm of clearance between the ECU and the bracket plate after assembly as an air gap to prevent grounding. This was impossible! Luckily I had a scrap bicycle inner tube that I cut a short piece of rubber from and inserted this in a double layer between the ECU and bracket plate to prevent grounding.
