My '08 Aero vert with MT has been sitting for about a 6 weeks. I started it yesterday morning to drive it to work and brake pedal went all the way to the floor.
Car has 70K miles on it, I am original owner and never had brake problems in past, it was fine when I parked it in July.
Brakes still engage but not until very very end of the pedal travel and limited bite - not driveable.
Pumping the brakes has no effect on pedal feel or travel. Pedal goes to floor with minimal resistance. This is with engine running or turned off. Vacuum booster system seems to be working as usual.
Brake fluid reservoir is full even after multiple pumps of the pedal and there are no dashboard warning lights or messages.
I found a test for internal leaks on ABS unit using 2 6mm bolts as indicators, car passed that test.
I'm puzzled how this could develop just from sitting in a garage and there aren't any brake fluid leaks so I'm thinking master cylinder? Any other ideas? TIA
