6MT Selector Unit / Shift Turret Metal Bushing Kit Posted by iveand [Email] (#3155) [Profile/Gallery] (more from iveand) on Sat, 20 Jan 2024 12:21:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Symptom: 6-speed MT need to wiggle the shifter left-right to "find" where to shift to 2nd gear (coming from 1st or 3rd). I have been looking at the gear cable adjustment process but am having trouble releasing the catch on them (inside the car under the shifter boot) by using a screwdriver according to WIS guidelines.
But, as I disconnected the cables for a closer look at the selector unit / shift tower / turret on top of the trans it seems that the "slop" (that makes me need to wiggle left-right to "find where to shift down to 2nd") is noticeable from that end (on that end it is the "up-down" motion that is done by a lever, that is where the slop is).
I am hoping this metal bushing replacement kit will solve the issues I (and I assume MANY) are having: X8R Stiff Gear Tower Turret Repair Fix Kit
