If I had a T7 car and a red DI, I'd do a quick check in the driveway to make sure it worked, then use the red as a spare, versus buying a black one 'just in case'. Great for a temporary spare. I would just avoid driving the car with a red one more than necessary. At a minimum, performance and mileage may suffer; worst case, a CEL and possibly rich running, which isn't good for the engine in the long term. So running one for a week while the spare came in, no problem - just don't take any 1200 mile trips. Running a red in a T7 car for three months until your lottery numbers come in, not a good idea.
