To just clarify that pat for you,leaving it in sport mode in itself does no damage or extra wear and tear. Using the engine and transmission to the hardest possible extent does however do that. Of cours, if the car did not have sport mode, and the driver just basically "beat on it" all the ime, you would be buying that much more wear and tear. Just remember,44k miles is also expressed as 176K quarter miles!
