I think the gates/napa 38008 is the closet match I've found to the later-OE top idler. It mounts and I ran the car fine with it, though it's a slightly larger diameter and gets close to the tensioner pulley. It's a fairly common part, namely in GM V6s and V8 w/o A/C and many other vehicles.
I don't think it was actually that much cheaper, since NAPA (Gates) isn't usually crappy stuff. Without fail, I usually notice a dodgy idler after the dealer parts dept is closed, so I did hit a Pep Boys once and saved the aggravation of wondering how many yards the car would go before the belt shredded.
I believe there's a dead-on aftermarket match for the center idler (many GM 350 engine, there's a jillion of those), tho I haven't tried it, and the reports I read were that they didn't last long depending on how cheap you went.
I know you have a 2000, but for others reading, note that the 9-5 upper idler changed in mid-99. Early 9-5 production was the same as the NG900 pulley, different diameter and bore (back brakes, too, if anybody's counting ;) )
