Advantage of Saab depreciation

It is a simple fact that Saabs do not hold their value in the U.S. Saab-lover's always hope this is about to change, but it never has. (I think it will not change for several reasons, with 4-cyl engines being a primary reason.)
This is bad news only if you buy a new one and want to sell it in a couple years. This is neutral if you want to drive the wheels off it. It is *very good* news if you are interested in a used one.
I don't know if the 9-5 will change this (I doubt it), but in the past one could pick up a used 9000T 5-spd with *very* low miles for next to nothing. It takes a bit of patience to find a good one, but this strategy can result in having a wonderful car at an *incredibly* low cost-per-mile.
So, while low residuals are bad from one side of the fence, they are very good from the other.
