Hey Mike, sorry, your characterization of concern about the DI as being the "worst" of hypochpondria is frankly offensive. Mine failed at 20k in the middle of high speed traffic. I stood out in the middle of the passing lane waving cars around my shiny Saab until two guys stopped to help push it out of the road. At that time, the throttle body had already failed; it failed a second time at about 43k. The turbo went at 40k, after the PCV mod and head bolt retorque didn't solve the blue smoke problem.

Sure, in theory any car can have problems, but in 39 years of driving lots of cars, I haven't encountered anything remotely similar to the DI failure.

I know not all 9-5s have these problems, but each and every failure I experienced had been reported here so frequesntly that I immedately know the problem.

Trust me, when I bought (not leased) this car I really wanted it to be a good car. I'd really like to think it was a smart purchase. I can assure you that I'm not known as a hypochpondriac. I just call them like I see them, and a good car is not what I've seen.
