A/C unit groaning like yours - sounded like transmission whine but disappeared as soon as you turned the aircon off. Also, my power steering whined in all but the straight ahead position.
My dealer wanted to 'own' my car for a couple of days to familarise himself with the A/C noise (fair enough, as the noise was more accentuated when cold). They also said the 9-5 was prone to noisy steering. After running my car for a couple of days they agreed to replace both steering and A/C motors under warranty. Both are slightly improved, but still noisy. I must say I'm surprised at this on a car of this caliber. Only consolation is that these points have been mentioned here a few times and the dealer had seen them before, so it's not just your car that's affected.
I've had no problem with washer jets or vibrating door mirrors, however.
Good luck.
