I have a 2001 9-5 wagon brochure, so this might help to clear it up.. though I don't know if there was any spec change between 2000 and 2001. Here's what it says in general- I'm slightly editing the 'fluff' copy.
"The Saab wagon is available with two fully integrated high power Saab Audio Systems. The 9-5 (ie: Base model) features Saab's premium 7-speaker 150 watt audio system, while the 9-5 SE and Aero offers an 8-speaker, Harman/Kardon tuned 200watt audio system w. rear subwoofer for an all surrounding presence. Both systems integrate AM/FM, cassette, in-dash CD, weather band. etc etc. It goes on.. lastly, both systems offer automatic volume compensation to fine tune the listening volume to compensate for changes in road speed."
I thought the use of the word 'tuned' in regards to the H/K system was interesting. Don't know if that means H/K just consulted on it or it's built in their factory. I'm guessing the former. I'll also add that I have an '01 9-5 base wagon w. the premium pkg, and there is absolutely no indication that the sound is from H/K, but it sounds great and has never caused me any grief.
Good luck. Hope this helps!
